November is rapidly approaching, and while the holiday season is even more magical on this little island, it can also be a tough time to to plan social outings – many restaurants close, and many of the rest cut back their operating schedules to give employees a much needed break after what seemed like yet again, the busiest summer to date. That being said, you know we’ve got your back with the inside scoop so you can find some time to treat yo’ self this off-season, and what better way to indulge than with our favorite downtown trifecta? Island restauranteur Marco Coelho of LoLa 41 and Station 21 has recently added GREYDON HOUSE to his lineup, so you’ll always have somewhere to cozy up on those grey lady days… and nights!
BREAKFAST at GREYDON HOUSE
This island hot spot has been open for one year, and has quickly become a favorite. With the michelin starred chef Marcus Ware in the kitchen, you know the food is going to be out of this world all year long.
But besides the incredible food, the decor makes for quite possibly the coziest (and most instagrammable) atmosphere on island. Between the fireplace, bookshelves, and murals lining the walls behind the bar, theres a money shot in every direction.
Add in their egg white scramble over avocado toast and killer eggs bene, and you are starting your day off on the right foot. These healthy and hearty dishes will have you feeling ready to take on the day… and did we mention their muffins? To. Die. For.
BONUS: They do weekend brunch! Come in from 10AM to 2PM on Saturday and Sunday to really savor your time off. Sit outside on their inviting outdoor patio to peruse the local paper, or sit in the bar area where they have a TV set up for Sunday football and cheer on your team over one of their delicious brunch cocktails.
So switch up the traditional dinner date and take your bae to breakfast! This cozy corner on the patio is by far our favorite table!
Last but not least, the indoor dining room is the ideal event space – with natural light streaming in through the windows and a brighter decor, this room is perfect for baby showers, wedding brunches, or a simple get together with all your friends!
LUNCH AT LOLA
You know it really is the off-season when LoLa makes the announcement that they are open for lunches – our favorite part of the winter!
Serving lunch Monday through Saturday, this hot spots offers bento box and soup/sandwich specials that give you a valid excuse to come in every day!
The red room at LoLa, with the light streaming in, is another great space for mid-day private parties! Get up to 8 people in this room and enjoy an afternoon savoring sushi, and match it with an “Excuse Me Dr. Hotpants” for a festive and spicy mid day libation!
While they aren’t serving lunch on Sundays, there is still ample time to take advantage of their dinner seven nights a week AND Sushi Sunday on Sunday nights! Come and get your raw bar fix with buy one roll and get one free!
Boasting a more relaxed atmosphere that the busy dinner scene, LoLa for lunch transforms into the perfect place for a lunchtime business meeting, mid-day date, or even just a solo lunch at the bar or sushi bar.
DINNER AT STATION 21
There really is nothing like the early afternoon light hitting the gorgeous chandelier in Station 21 and sending crystals of light bouncing all around the bar to get you in the mood for some fantastic eats and drinks!
Luckily, Station opens at 4PM Tuesday through Saturday, so you can savor the final few hours of sunlight over a drink (or two!) before hitting the hay or continuing on for a night on the town.
AND while their kitchen doesn’t “officially”open until 5PM, make sure to come in early and take advantage of the pizza special that runs from 4PM-6PM… Start with a glass of Prosecco or a beer, and enjoy a romaine and raddichio salad followed by your choice of pizza or the buccatini and meatballs, all for just $25! And trust us, you do not want to miss out on these pizzas…
Miss the early bird special? No problem, the rest of the menu is sure to satisfy any cravings you might have. From spicy to savory to sweet, they’ve got it all. The clams harissa will kick your night into gear with a serrano spice, and end it all with an order of semi-freddo to cool off.
This hot spot is open straight through until their closing weekend at STROLL so go get your fix in while you can! Grab a seat in the upstairs dining room for an intimate date night, or have a seat in the bar area for a more lively scene.
Station 21 is a fall favorite, get yourself a glass of vino from the Donelan Family Wine collection and get ready to PARTY DOWN! FYI: They start taking reservations for STROLL weekend starting November 1st!
OPEN FOR BREAKFAST TUESDAY – SUNDAY 8AM to 10AM. WEEKEND BRUNCH FROM 10AM TO 2PM. DINNER SERVED TUESDAY-SUNDAY BEGINNING AT 5PM
