This July, we want you to be sure that one very special outdoor festival weekend is penned in on your calendar. YES! Our favorite festival of the season is always the Nantucket Yoga Festival. Celebrating their eighth year, co-founders Joann and Ted Burnham have created another extraordinary lineup that you don’t want to miss. But don’t just take my Omm’s and Ahh’s for it, as they tell us…
“The Nantucket Yoga Festival brings together the very best yoga instructors, wellness experts and healthy living guides for one inspiring weekend. By coming together to explore ways to find a happier, healthier more peaceful way of living we can begin to affect positive change in our community and ultimately in the world around us.” So in typical blACKbook fashion… we got a six pACK of hot things to note for the 2019 Yoga festival!
1. FUEL YOUR HEART & SOLE
To kick off your weekend, the Nantucket Yoga Fest has stylish gift that you won’t want to miss. Full Festival Pass Holders will receive a FREE pair of Native shoes! Yes, you read that correctly. FREE SHOES. Both Native and the Yoga Fest believe in treating our animal and human friends equally by being mindful of the shoes we slip on before heading out the door. These pumped up kicks are perfect for running errands downtown or a quick trip to the beach so get your pass today and strut the island’s streets in style.
2. UNBLOCK YOUR ENERGY WITH DR. SUE MORTER
Another reason to get your full festival pass is to celebrate opening night in an intimate setting at the gorgeous Westmoor Club! Alongside a healthy and delicious dinner, you’ll toast with libations like Lemon Press green juice and pop that bubbly with Jenny Johnson’s Champy. Fresh to the 2019 season has the Yoga Festival introducing their keynote, Dr. Sue Morter, an international speaker and best selling author of The Energy Codes, she will be joining the Opening Night Celebration, ready to share her knowledge with Nantucket.
3. FEEL FOREVER CONNECTED WITH BALI MALAS
Every attendee at this year’s Yoga Fest will receive a wristband made by Bali Malas. Using the oldest known prayer beads, Rudraksha seeds, and simple threaded cord, these wristbands are incredibly similar to those found in 10,000 temples in Bali. These wristbands are a reminder that we are all connected on this little island and to the greater world at large.
4. GET YOUR SUN SALUTATIONS WITH DOWN UNDER YOGA
The Festival will feature three of Boston’s Best Instructors from the Down Under Yoga School of Yoga. Tara Morris, Kate Robinson and Tristan Boyer-Binns. They are ready to bring their unwavering vision to the island. Featuring Power Yoga, The Yoga Of Writing, and a discussion of The Yoga Sutras they will be offering something for everyone. This talented team is a true gift to our grey lady this season. Click for more teachers at this year’s festival!
