“Night In White” is our island’s fundraiser to benefit the Nantucket Museum of African American History which is located at Five Corners and represents more than 240 years of Nantucket history. THE EXPENDABLES + THE ELOVATERS COME TO THE LEGENDARY CHICKEN BOX
It wouldn’t be a hot list without the hot shows to look forward to! First up at the BOX, on June 18th and 19th The Expendables, who blend reggae, punk rock, and 80s style dueling guitar solos will be on island for the their maiden voyage. The band, consisting of 4 longtime friends Geoff Weers (guitar and vocals), Adam Patterson (drums and vocals), Raul Bianchi (lead guitar) and Ryan DeMars (bass) is amped up and ready to bring their A-game. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
The Elovaters, who debuted at #1 on the Billboard and iTunes Reggae charts after their sophomore album Defy Gravity dropped last fall, will be taking over the infamous Box stage on June 25th and 26th. Hailing from the south shore of Boston, Jackson Wetherbee (lead vocal, rhythm guitar), John Alves (lead guitar), Nick Asta (drums), Matt Link (bass), Derrick Cabral (percussion), and Greg Nectow (keys) have been heavily touring and opening for the likes of Ziggy Marley, Stick Figure, The Movement, Easy Star Allstars, John Brown’s Body, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and more! Starting Monday, June 10 until Monday, September 16th, their day of reservation policy will take effect. Here’s the drill…doors open at NOON for in person reservations and then phone lines will open at 1PM to snag any tables that are still available. After that, walk-ins are accepted first come first serve at the bar.
