2017 Cranberry Festival
When the annual Cranberry Festival rolls around, you know Fall is truly here. Head out to the bogs on Saturday, October 7th from 11am to 4pmto get a lesson on how these fantastic little fruits are harvested, and bring in the sweater weather with a day celebrating perhaps our favorite nantucket reds. Complete with an array of ACKtivities, local music, and food vendors from around the island, this is a fun fall afternoon that you won’t want to skip! BONUS: It supports the Nantucket Conservation Foundation. which helps to preserve our special little island by permanently conserving, maintaining and managing natural areas and habitats and to encourage an appreciation of and interest in the Island’s natural resources!

Starting on October 6th and continuing throughout the fall, the Greydon House will be bringing in top chefs from around the world to cook alongside their own Michelin-starred Marcus Gleadow-Ware. From Chef Chris Anderson and Head Bartender Megan Cross of the Hutton Hotel in Nashville, to Chefs Sam Mason and Mohan Kumar or OddFellows Ice Cream Co. in Brooklyn, Fall at the Greydon house is the HOT SPOT for something super delicious and fresh!

ATLAS HOSTS A FRIDAY NIGHT BENEFIT FOR PUERTO RICO
PUT IT UP FOR PUERTO RICO! Join the awesome crew at ATLAS for an evening of dining, drinking and dancing with Nantucket’s very own Lady V (Virna Gonzalez) on the decks to DJ for the Friday Night. There is no cover all night long, but they just ask to give what you can at the door to help those in need down in the PR right now. The Atlas crew will be donating the nights proceeds from the event to a list of PR organizations that they have vetted and know that the money will go where it should to help! Checks can be made out to these organizations at the door so come one, come all! Bar opens at 5PM and dinner starts at 5:30!
Screenagers Comes To Nantucket
This award winning documentary talks about the importance of balance in a tech saturated world, and what this means for children growing up in the age of technology. There will be a showing of Screenagers on 10.4 at 7pm in the High School Auditorium, followed by a Q&A with a panel of experts. Going along with our theme of self-care in October, this is the perfect chance for parents and community members to dive in to a deeper understanding of social media, screen addiction, and what this means for teens today. Nantucket Shorts Festival
Speaking of film, these short films pACK a big punch! Founded in 2013 by local Nantucket film makers, the Nantucket Shorts Festival celebrates short form movies anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes that star or are inspired by our beautiful little island. This event welcomes amateur and experienced filmmakers to share their art on the big screen at the Dreamland, and is an evening of entertainment on Saturday, October 7th that you will NOT want to miss! It’s always one of the highlights of the fall season… and be sure to watch the 2017 trailer above!
